North Olmsted Eagles JV watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-1 loss to Amherst High School on Wednesday. Amherst High School scored on a double by Gotsis, a single by Bingham, a single by Polonkay, and a sacrifice fly by Mayer in the first inning.
The North Olmsted Eagles JV struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Amherst High School, giving up 11 runs.
North Olmsted Eagles JV got things started in the first inning when Nathan Rahm grounded out, scoring one run.
Mayer led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Amherst High School. The ace lasted five innings, allowing zero hits and one run while striking out seven.
Alex Meyer was on the hill for North Olmsted Eagles JV. Meyer surrendered eight runs on eight hits over two innings, striking out one and walking one. Robert Burrell threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Rahm led North Olmsted Eagles JV with one run batted in. Rahm went 0-for-2 on the day.
