Summary:

In the first inning, both teams went scoreless. Junior, Abbey Healan, recorded a base hit and stolen base, but the eagles failed to bring her in. Senior, Cassie Burkey, with her first of two impressive plays behind the plate, threw out a runner attempting to steal 3rd to end the inning.

In the second inning, the eagles went 1-2-3. In the bottom half of the inning, Parma scored 7 runs on 4 hits on 5 walks. The only 3 earned runs of the game were scored during this inning. The score was 7-0 at the end of the 2nd.

In the third inning, The eagles went 1-2-3 at the plate. Parma added another run to their lead on no hits, 2 errors, and HBP. North Olmsted was down 8 runs at the end of the third.

In the fourth inning, the eagles would record 4 runs on 3 hits, a walk, and 2 HBP. Healan started the inning off with a single. Varnis would then hit a double scoring Healan. Burkey walked and then advanced on a wild pitch, putting her and Varnis on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Freshman, Gillian Gallagher, was HBP loading the bases. Junior, Gina D’Onofrio, was also HBP, bringing in Varnis. Reich hit a single bringing in Burkey and Gallagher. In the bottom of the inning, the eagles made a pitching change and brought junior, Abby Rigda, to the mound, Healan to SS & Reich to LF. Parma scored another run on 1 hit and 1 error by the eagles. The score at the end of the inning was 9-4, Parma.

In the fifth inning, the eagles scored 2 runs on 2 hits, a walk, and 2 errors. Varnis hit a single with one out and managed to reach 3rd base on a fielding error in left field. Then Burkey walked and stole second. Laurenzi hit a single scoring Varnis. Gallagher ROE scoring Burkey. In the bottom half of the inning, the eagles would shut down Parma quick with Burkey catching her second runner of the game attempting to steal second. The score at the end of the fifth was 9-6, Parma.

In the sixth inning, the eagles scored 1 run on 2 hits and a walk. Balson led the inning off with a single and a stole base. She found herself on 3rd after a PB. Healan followed with another single, scoring Balson. The eagles left 2 runners stranded. Parma got 2 runs back on 1 hit, 1 error and a walk.

In the 7th inning, Reich had the only hit of the inning. The eagles were unable to come back ending the game with a final score of 11-7. North Olmsted faced Olmsted Falls on Monday, April 16th at OFHS.
