Multiple Teams · Spring ESPY results are in!

Congratulations to all of our student-athletes that represented the Eagles in the Annual NOHS Spring ESPY Awards. The purpose of bringing a postseason vote award to NOHS is to create familiarity between the student-athletes, the community, and our athletic department.

The ESPY Award ballot generated over 5,000 views on the athletic website!   The Athletic Department would like to give a big thanks to the students, staff, parents, and the rest of the North Olmsted community for making the NOHS ESPY event a success. 

The NOHS ESPY’s provided five categories which included the following:  Male Student-Athlete of the Spring, Female Student-Athlete of the Spring, Male breakthrough Athlete of the Spring, Female breakthrough Athlete of the Spring and Best Play/ Highlight of the Spring Season.

2019 Spring ESPY winners

The 2019 Male Student-Athlete of the Spring season was senior baseball player Travis Vitaz.  Travis was recognized this spring in baseball as a 1st Team All SWC performer and a honorable mention all district performer.  Travis also participates in golf and hockey at NOHS.

DeAvion Anderson won the 2019 Female Student Athlete of the spring season ESPY.  She is a member of the girls track and field team.  This spring Dee was 2nd place at the district track and field meet in Amherst and was a Regional Qualifier.  DeAvion was also an Honorable Mention All SWC athlete for the Eagles.

The 2019 Male Breakthrough Student-Athlete of the Spring season was junior baseball player Shawn Donovan. Shawn was a 2nd team All SWC athlete for the Eagles and the SWC athlete of the week this spring.  Shawn is also a member of the Eagle hockey team.

The 2019 Female Breakthrough Student-Athlete of the spring season was freshman softball player Sydney Sukenik. A few awards that Sydney wion this spring: Honorable Mention All District, Honorable Mention All SWC, and Honorable Mention All-Cuyahoga County.

The 2019 Best Play/ Highlight of the Winter season goes to Travis Vitaz. Travis helped the Eagles to an early season victory over Avon Lake with a huge 3 for 3 performance at the plate.

The spring sports individual winners will join the fall and winter season individual winners for a final end of the year vote for the 2018-19 NOHS ESPY Award.
