Girls Varsity Bowling · Lady Eagles Excited for Season, Feel They Can Compete with Anyone

On November 26, 2016, the Girls Varsity Bowling Team traveled to Twin Star Lanes to compete in the Ravenna Ravens Invitational, which included three games and five baker games for the lady eagles. The members of the squad include Nicole Clancy, Jordan Giraldo, Hannah Groden, Meghan Hardin, and Taylor Perkins. The varsity subs comprise of Jade Freeman and Taylor Stergar. With only two returning lettermen from last year’s group in Nicole Clancy and Taylor Perkins, this year’s team is young but optimistic. The Eagles opened the season by competing against multiple teams from last year’s OHSAA State Finals. After placing fifth in the initial tournament, the Eagles moved on to the quarterfinals to take on Jackson-Massillon with three baker games. North Olmsted would defeat the Polar Bears in games two and three, advancing the Eagles to the semis against the Centerville Elks, who would win the first two baker games knocking the Eagles into third place.

Taylor Perkins led the way for the Eagles with a 626 three-game series (173, 232, 221), followed by Nicole Clancy with a 585 series (210,190,185). Taylor’s 235 game was the third highest individual game score and her 626 placed her in second overall across girls in the Invitational. Now that the Lady Eagles have their first-tournament jitters out of the way, they are ready to start their season.
