Eagles Can’t Hold Up Against Steele
Eagles couldn’t keep up with Steele and fell 7-2 on Monday.
Steele took an early lead in the first inning. Jones drove in one when he singled in the first inning.
Eagles knotted the game up at one in the top of the second inning.
Steele took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Smith singled off of Sam Guercio, driving in one run, Harris doubled off of Guercio, driving in one run, there was an error, scoring one run, and a runner stole home.
Moore earned the win for Steele. He threw five innings, surrendering one run, two hits, and striking out ten. Two relievers helped Steele close out the victory. Sherrill threw one inning. Guercio took the loss for Eagles. He pitched three innings, surrendering five runs, six hits, and striking out two.
Cole Wagner led Eagles with two hits in three at bats.
Steele had eight hits in the game. Jones and Harris each collected multiple hits for Steele.
